Work information

Applications for highly motivated individuals are sought for an open postdoctoral position in the context of the collaborative project “development of a non-invasive neuromodulation technology”, which is a part of one of projects of Moonshot Research and Development Program Goal 7 (Masaaki Murakami PM).

Goal 7

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to support our study to evaluate the effectiveness of non-invasive ultrasonic stimulation in regulating and/or preventing neurological and psychiatric disorders such as epileptic seizures, schizophrenia, and addiction. Our inventory includes large-scale electrophysiological recordings, real-time closed-loop intervention, state-of-the-art stimulation techniques, and genetical methods to target a subset of neuronal circuits underlying those disorders.

A successful candidate will be responsible for leading, moving along and troubleshooting an independent project that will likely involve all or most of the following:

1. Electrophysiological experiments with rodents, including perturbation experiments using ultrasonic stimulation, electrical stimulation, and/or drug infusion
2. Handling skills of electronics to conduct in vivo experiments
3. Neuronal data analysis with Python and/or MATLAB
4. Molecular biology skills for viral vector packaging
5. Histological analysis

• Applicants should have or be enthusiastic to learn those skills.

Qualification

Ph.D. in neurophysiology / molecular biology / biomedical engineering / data science, or related discipline is required.

Compensation

• Job title: Postdoctoral fellow
• Salary: 1,924–2,366 JPY per hour (depending on skills and experience)
• Working hour: 7.5 hours per day (flexible)
• Work day: 5 days per week
• Commuting allowance: Up to 55,000 JPY per month
• Social security services: Included
• These all are according to the work regulations of Osaka City University.

職務内容

ムーンショット型研究開発事業の目標７（村上正晃PM）に基づき、新しい非侵襲的ニューロモジュレーション法を研究開発いたします。目標７については下記をご覧ください。

目標7

げっ歯類の中枢神経系・末梢神経系をモデルとして用い、将来ヒトの疾患予防・疾患制御に応用可能な神経活動介入法の概念実証を行います。まず、皮膚や頭蓋骨を透過する刺激モダリティー（超音波や集束電気刺激）を竹内らが開発してきた時空間特異的・細胞種特異的な神経活動介入法と組み合わせることで、特定神経回路の活動を非侵襲的に操作することを目指します。対象とする疾患はてんかん、精神疾患、慢性炎症疾患等を想定していますが、応募者の希望と背景により応談可能です。

採用された方には、竹内らと協力しながらプロジェクトを自律的に推進することをお願いします。プロジェクトには以下の技術が必要です。

1. 超音波刺激、電気刺激、薬物投与等と組み合わせたin vivo電気生理学記録
2. In vivo電気生理学記録や行動実験のための電子工作技術
3. PythonやMATLABを用いた多チャネル時系列データの解析
4. AAV等ウイルスベクターを精製する技術
5. 免疫組織化学染色など組織学的解析

契約

公立大学法人大阪短時間教職員就業規則に基づき年度単位の雇用契約。再任あり。

• フルタイム勤務（週5日 37時間30分程度）ですが、短時間教職員（非常勤）の扱いとなります。
